Innovation Layer
for Main Street.
Hookton acquires enduring software and service businesses and holds them permanently. We bring modern engineering, applied AI, and operating depth to the companies Main Street runs on, so what a founder built keeps compounding long after the deal closes.
Our Approach
We buy to hold, not to flip.
Most of what Main Street runs on was built by someone who understood a trade first. The software that dispatches technicians, books appointments, and tracks inventory. The service companies that keep the doors open for shops that have been on the same corner for thirty years. Small, unglamorous, and genuinely essential.
Hookton exists to own those businesses permanently. We are not a fund with a clock on it, and we do not buy a company in order to sell it. When we acquire a business, the plan is to still be running it in twenty years. Same product, same customers, better every year.
That changes what a founder is signing up for. Your team keeps their jobs. Your customers keep what they rely on. Your name stays on the thing you built. What changes is the ceiling: engineering, applied AI, and operating support that a company of your size could never justify hiring for on its own.

What We Look For
Six things that tell us a business will last.
-
01
Something a specific industry runs on
Software or services with a clear job to do. Field service, scheduling, compliance, point of sale, back office. Depth in one trade beats breadth across many.
-
02
Revenue that already carries the business
Enough scale to prove the business can stand on its own. Not a side project, and not something waiting on the next raise to survive.
-
03
Five or more years in operation
A track record long enough to show the business isn't a moment. We are more interested in what survived than in what spiked.
-
04
Customers who stay
Low churn and long tenure matter more to us than growth rate. Retention is the clearest evidence that a business is load-bearing.
-
05
Profitable, or close to it
We are comfortable with modest, steady growth. We are not looking for a turnaround, and we are not trying to fix a burn rate.
-
06
An owner ready for what's next
Retirement, a new project, or simply handing off the parts of the job you never wanted. We can structure around a full exit or a gradual one.
